S.H.E. SPOT the special little place in your home that is perfectly you
approx. 1 hour needed
Every girl needs a spot to call her own. Your shebang project #2 is to create that perfect little spot in your home. The end result is a spot where you can sit on the phone + chat with your best girlfriend and only gaze upon items you adore… no projects, no mess, no paperwork, nothing that needs your attention.
I carved out my S.H.E. SPOT in the living room. While the room isn’t “perfect”, as I often pile up my donation pile or my projects in the nearby dining room, I am able to sit on my couch with my back to the dining room and facing the window. That my pretties allows me to ignore the life’s chaos and focus on all things she…
1. Decide on your S.H.E. SPOT location
2. Declutter the area keeping only items you adore
3. Make it beautiful… add your favorite photo, a vase full of fresh flowers, a cozy blanket.
4. Crown this spot your own.

Life isn’t always as overwhelming as we make it out to be… When those little things seem overwhelming it’s time to get your groove back…get your routines back on track.
Your first shebang assignment is to create routines for your morning, your evening + your week.
These will consist of the piddly little tasks that we do every day or should do every day. If done at the correct time, these little buggers become well, less buggable.
For example: my evening routine includes prepping + setting the dishwasher to run while I’m sleeping and my morning routine lists emptying the dishwasher. This in turn allows me to put all the day’s dishes in the dishwasher instead of piling up on the counter which bugs me. I also review my planner each evening (so that I don’t lie in bed wondering what I’m supposed to do the next day). Not rocket science, yet… those little tasks written down, in order, somehow magically take the overwhelm out of my morning.
Before you dive in… VIEW the sample doc so you can get a visual… the big picture. Download Sample_routines if you have not already done so.
After viewing the Sample Doc… You can get to work!
Open up the Routine Template + to start creating your own routines.
Download Shebang101 SHE Routines if you have not already done so.
TIP: Read each question then close your eyes + mentally walk through your day. As you think of each task, write it down.
Each month you will revisit your S.H.E. Routines so they stay fresh + functional.

"THE S.H.E. IT KIT" [aka clutter-control kit]
The S.H.E. IT KIT your secret weapon for staying clutter free
approx. 1 hour needed
I believe clutter (aka the C-word, which I like to avoid all together) is just a pile of decisions you have yet to make… and that’s okay because you were busy living life.
My philosophy is to make it as easy as possible to knock out this task. It’s quite possible to create this kit with items you may already have. However, I confess that I am much more apt to actually get excited about a project if it involves functional + fabulous products!
You'll need:
-3 totes (totes shown can be ordered below) or paper bags or trash bags.
-You'll need to download THE SHEBANG organizing signs and print them out. I suggest sliding them into sheet protectors so they stay pretty ;) Download Organizing Signs- general use

The Shebang isn't like the other Time Management Plans... She may be a finalist for the Los Angeles Organizing Awards with the likes of David Allen, Franklin Covey, and Julie Morgenstern but she marches to her own beat in a pair of cute shoes!
In fact she doesn't really consider herself a Time Management Expert... She's more of a Lifestyle Expert. She's talks you off the perfection cliff, tells you to simmer down and take it one month at a time. She professes people over perfection, and to slow down + enjoy the journey. But the description fits, so she's going with the flow.
Best Time Management Expert*: An individual organizer or organizing firm primarily devoted to helping others effectively streamline and prioritize projects, tasks and responsibilities.
And that description is what The Shebang! lifestyle management plan is all about girlfriend.
With Shebang 101 you prioritize your daily, weekly, + monthly routines.
The She Monthly Project is based on tackling Self, Home + Endeavor projects on a rotating monthly basis, while taking a break every quarter to revisit your Shebang 101 routines + tackle your Seasonal Shift List. Because you CAN DO IT ALL... just not in 1 day or month!
And Maintain the Shebang simple keeps you sane!
The Shebang! would love your support as Best Time Management Expert... She's quite the underdog but she's a sassy lil' bugger that knows a girlfriend just needs a plan + swift kick in the spanx now + then!

Ever wonder what goes on behind the "orange curtain"? This is a sneek at of the VIPs tackling the Mail Center. The girlfriends are also tackling a few "little things" like their guest rooms, catchall bins, + kid's artwork.
Wondering what those girls know that you don't.... they've got step by step directions with pics on how to set up a mail center... the best place to do it, product suggestions that fit their organizing style: pilers, filers, or binder junkies. They've got templates to download and print out- in this situation it's label titles for their mail center. They can download and customize the labels to fit their specific needs + font style.
VIP's also receive a special 20% coupon code from The Organized Parent to purchase the items they need.
Here's a peek at what she VIP Erin, a fabulous Portland mom + biz owner has done with her toy closet turned mail center + SHE office! Cheers to Erin for tackling this project!
AFTER BEFORE
Some SHE thoughts here sisters...
Erin's closet was located in the kitchen/dining area. Possibly originally meant to be an overflow pantry. Erin was creative and used it to stash all the toys, because if you are a mama or nana you KNOW that the kids want to be near you non-stop. Now that Erin's children are a bit older and their rooms are just down the hall... I suggested she move all those toys to their rightful local- the kid's rooms. Anyone else NOT grow up w/a play room? Don't get me started...
This little gem of a space was PERFECT for Erin to have all to herself. So Cheers to sister Erin who's with us tonight!
