what a fabulous way to display your collection!

 

A client's husband has totally got his man-cave decked out with his radio collection and other man-ish auto collectibles. He used a bookcase for the radios-note the perfect fit... and a display case for the other items.

 

Looking for inspiration on how to display your own lovelies... visit an antique store or mall and look beyond the trinkets. Inquire if the display piece is for sale or ask for recommendations in your area to find a similar piece.

function meets fabulous... not so much

 
 Some new little girly products I thought I may need...

I was feeling the need to be a little more "Put together" as they say... so while my son looked at toys, I looked at the girl section. I decided to try out some new hair tools. You see last month I saw an infomercial for something called the "instylist" or something like that. I was hooked but didn't dial in to purchase. Now I've got not one but 2 crazy contraptions I'm not so sure about... a spiral curling iron (which scares me) and a blow drying thingymajiger.

I also recalled seeing the L'Oreal Infallible Never Fail Lipcolor in my fav ShopSmart mag as being some of their favorites. Well L'Oreal and I've had a thing going since the 80's so I wanted to check it out. (which yes was a function meets fabulous item)

But then I wanted to venture into new mascara territory. Silly me forgot what brand the ShopSmart listed as "top wand" and "bargain buy" and wound up with a not-so-fabulous mascara for my short lashes :(. The uber-sized wand demands precise movement so I don't mascara up my eyeball and then leaves me with a not so long lash feelin'. Back to my L'Oreal Telescopic mascara- lesson learned.

5 minutes to fabulous... in the kitchen

HUGE time saving tip... and YOU can knock this out in less than 5 minutes- promise.

So... this isn't your mama's kitchen so why do you have it organized like hers? I want you to ponder this then create the solution that works for you.

What is the "thing" you do over and over and over again but could simplify + streamline the process.  

In my case there are 2 things:

1. My son eats Peanut Butter + Honey sandwiches every day. My streamlined solution... place the PB + honey together above the bread box. Voila. No more trips across the kitchen to the pantry for something I USE everyday.

2. Coffee.... After scooping coffee into the pot for the umpteenth thousand time I measured out those scoops and replaced the lil' scoop with a larger full serve-1 timer scoop.

Simple. Streamlined. Solution.
