Most seem to assume I found 'the lump' during a mammogram. nope. nada. My last mammogram was clear and done 10 months ago in April of 2009.
I was in the tub soaking. I don't typically take a bath... then again I don't typcially do cross-fit but had started working out. Figured it was time to focus on me.
When the kidlets bursted in [so typical] I covered myself. I felt it. As soon as they left the room I flung my right arm up + behind my head and did the pat pat pat, thwap thwap thwap.
I knew. I knew it wasn't right. It was roundish but with a hard spot on it.
The next morning after the kidlets were off to school I called both my ob + my doctors office to see who could get me in the quickest. I also called a girlfriend I had gotten to know this past year. She had breast cancer, she'd know what to do...
Sandy met me for coffee, answered my questions, listened and told me to call the new Kearney Breast Center. Lara had walked in during all this + picked up phone + called for me. They were able to get me in the same day..
