Create your own HOLIDAY GUIDEBOOK- it's easy + will help keep you a bit more sane this holiday season.
You'll need a Binder + tab pocket dividers. Create categories that fit your needs. Here are mine to get you started:
*plus keep a section in the front for note taking + other lists

MORE OF THE SAME
· Buy socks in one color, brand, + style, eliminating sock sorting.
· Have duplicates of most often used/needed items…. Scissors in each room, trash can in each room.
USE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB
· Why scoop coffee 8 times… use 1 big scoop + call it good.
· When filling out forms use an address stamp or labels.
· Set up online bill pay with your bank.
COOKING + CLEANING
· Prep Kid's lunches + Freeze their sandwiches
· Use trays on your countertops, easier to move smaller items + clean underneath.

Divide + Conquer the kid's closets! Watch my monthly segment above to get the full wammy and take a peek at my tips below for the still life version.
Closets are for Clothes... unless of course it's bigger than a can of soup then you can add toys to a designated area.
Label everything... then you aren't stuck being the one to 'do it right' and keep every piece of clothing in it's rightful home. Dividers from Organize.com
Lower those Shelves... just how high can your kidlet reach-adjust your closet shelves accordingly and give them a stepping stool. *I think I need to call my closet people + get another shelf... too much empty space on the right.
It's in the Basket... keep it simple and within their reach. The baskets shown here contain underwear + practice clothes for soccer (which can trade out w/each seasonal sport)
Matching Hangers... It's all the rage ;)... YES, it does make the closet look better + less cluttered.
Hanging Bags... LOVE them! You can designate each cubby for a day of the week (notice labels on the larger bag). I rec. the small shoe hanging bag for accessories like leggings or for a nursery- they're perfect for onesies, cute little outfits, + receiving blankets, oh + diapers too! TIP: Determine what size works for your clothes then order the correct width.
Small Closet with Door... check out this hanging bag from Organize.com. It will gain you oodles of room.
And all those lil' lovelies that you just can't part with...
Keepsakes... I've designated the top shelves to Keepsakes that I no longer want the kidlets to tinker with. You can always create a cute label, smack it on a bin + call it good. Like this one:

I also find having a small dictionary nearby is great to help the kids with their homework + to spell check my facebook and twitter posts!
Don't forget to donate those mismatched pens + pencils and treat yourself to a new set while they are all on sale. These are Ticonderoga from Target.
This dry erasable monthly calendar is re-purposed as a weekly family planner. This a simple + visual way to remind yourself what day the school library books are due + what days the kids need to wear tennis shoes for PE.
TIP- give each family member a color and jot their initial on their marker
A great wall calendar that mimics this idea is the Busy Body Wall Calendar. Check out their product line... it's fabulous meet function ;) my kind of product!

I heart asian takeout containers! I use them for everything: gifts, party favors, storage of small trinkets and now + then fill them with cookies + share with my girlfriends.
I think this is so sweet with the gift tag appearing in all her cuteness!
