I have a client... she's become my friend :)
She's new to this side of town so I thought it would be fun to have a Valentine's Day Tea to introduce her to all my chicaritas... but not any ordinary tea.
A Modern She Tea in her really beautiful historic home. [everyone's dying to see inside her home + I didn't have to clean mine]
We met for coffee, made some plans and sent out some cute e-vites using Red Stamp.
[i learned about Red Stamp via my chica Dana and from appSmitten which i'm a contributor for... but i digress]You can see how cute they are for yourself...
Simple + Sweet... love invites like that.
Valentine's Day arrived... she cooked, I made things look pretty...
I packed up my tea cups and brought them over.
My grandma's tea cup, tea cups my mom just passed on to me, and tea cups I've collected along the way.
As we sipped on mimosa's and tea [out of pretty lil' tea cups that we chose based on their beauty]
New friendships were made and other's broadened.
Then my phone rang.
I had to dash off because my daughter had collided with another student. After a doctor visit and NO broken nose my lil' chica made it back for her class Valentine's Day party + I made it back in time to clean up after mine. I gathered up my dirty tea cups and placed them in a really cute grocery tote... ok it's not cute, but it's functional.
They sat on my kitchen island in that dang blue tote for
2 weeks til I got the bug to wash them.
As I washed them carefully I thought about my grandmother's tea cup. I remembered her drinking coffee out of it at the farm table. She'd pour me my own with more milk than coffee. I thought about how my Aunt Sarah carefully packaged it up and sent it to me.
I wondered why I never drank coffee out of her cup... what had I been waiting for and why the heck do we wait and wait and wait to use the good stuff.
I vowed to keep her cup out and use it- often.
They air dried for a bit.
Then I reached for a towel...
And that happened.
I cried. Big Sad Tears.
Why did it have to be that one...
Lesson learned.

Krista, what a great story, and I am so sorry it was Baa Baa's cup that broke. We will try to get you another one. I will see if your Aunt Fronie has an extra one, if not we will find one. Have a great day. Memories are wonderful. Love, Brenda & Joe
