Earlier this week I did my monthly lifestyle segment on AM Northwest. I noticed that since Christmas everyone around me was in complete + utter organizing mode- they wanted to toss everything to the curb + start fresh. Here's a simple set of rules to help you TOSS year round!
Dump, as in RECYCLE the obvious… recycling, newspaper, broken and expired items.
Then tackle your makeup + spices [info from Consumer Reports]

ITEM WHEN TO CHUCK IT
Blush Every 2-3 years
Eyeliner After 3 months if it's the liquid type
Foundation After 6-12 months
Lipstick After 1-2 years
Makeup Brushes no need to toss. Clean them every 2 weeks w/gentle shampoo
Makeup Sponges Every 2-4 weeks
Mascara Every 4 months
Moisturizer After a year
Self-Tanner After 2 years
Sunscreen After 1 year, unless expiration date is listed.
Spices… still spice worthy [click here for original post]
Keep ground spices no more than 2-3 years + whole spice for 3-4 years. Do the whiff test-if the spice smells strong, use it. If not, toss it.
