Time to Soak it All in...

Summer is officially here in the Pacific Northwest! I love this picture of my daughter as she so innocently soaks it all in...

The big girl in me sees that she's embracing all life has to offer. Her toes slightly sinking in the sand- keeping her grounded and safe from the oncoming waves. Her arms wide open to explore what is near + far.

I'm going to soak it all in as well. I only have so many summers to be with the kids... they are already 9 + 7 so I'm lucky if they'll hang out with me for another 4 years. I'm sure you'll forgive me if my posts are more sporadic, less "how to" and more "why bother".  I'll be sharing old posts, my favorite blogs, and reading my magazines that have been piling up ;).

I know this happens to you.... you look around your house + get all pissy. All pissy about the little messes that feel HUGE.  I decided to grab my camera and share with you the piddly things that were driving me crazy but in reality each area took me less than 5 minutes. (ok, except the kitchen sink where I needed to handwash some dishes)

Simple, Savvy, + Stylish Gift Wrap

  

Cello bags, Opaque shopping bags, take out containers.
Wide wire ribbon from Costco [early spring]
Price tags used as tags.

Creating a Signature Wrap that screams.... "This package is from {insert your name here} is simple + savvy! Here's the process, complete with links~

Basics [use simple containers]

·         Bags [ I purchased mine at grand & benedicts ]

·         Take out containers [ mine are from cash & carry but try this link ]

·         Cello bags [Howells Home + Floral ]

 

Add Color + Texture [layer it]

• Tissue Paper [ in bulk from grand & benedictssmaller packages- Target, Walmart, etc ]
• Ribbons [ Available Costco- early spring ]

 Accessorize [be creative!]

• Gift Tags [ tags shown from Target ]
• Price Tags [ grand & benedicts ]
• Labels
• Flowers- fresh or faux
• Trinkets

I heart asian takeout containers! I use them for everything: gifts, party favors, storage of small trinkets and now + then fill them with cookies + share with my girlfriends.

 

 
I think this is so sweet with the gift tag appearing in all her cuteness!
Found this lil' gem at Target in their up + front seasonal section. I used a piece of scrap ribbon to tie it all together.
