I'm into labeling- go figure! I'm often asked which label maker I use... she's not fancy, she's not hi tech... she's the Brother P-Touch PT 80 Compact Labeling Machine. Forget all the fancy (translate fonts that you'll never use because they are lame and ugly as well as difficult to read), you just need 2 fonts: large and small. I also like when you print, there isn't a lot of wasted tape on each side of your label- that bugs me. The labeler runs around $29.99 at Office Max (link above) but often it will be on sale, so keep your eyes peeled. The down side of a labeler is that the tape is pricey- think printer and ink here. Did I mention you'll go a little label crazy at first!?

Yay labels. I've got the older version of this... 6 years and still labeling. It really does it all. I only wish they made clear tape for this one.
Looove the labelmaker.

These do work... my point is this is. If you take the intimidation factor out of something, make it easier and hopefully more fun... people will embrace it. "Ease of use equates to frequency of use".
My sister in law got one of these for Christmas and now EVERYTHING is labeled in her closet, pantry, storage room, laundry room, etc.

I actually like using different color tapes... but you are so right BIG and small that's all you need!

I agree with you Jon... on making things easy and more fun, entice use! It's easy to "over" organize or as my gal Ellen and I say Uber-organize (that's German for those of you that took Spanish;) )
